Leclerc's Mistakes Cost Ferrari in Melbourne

Charles Leclerc and Ferrari Face Frustrating Australian Grand Prix

Charles Leclerc and Ferrari are leaving Melbourne with more questions than answers after a chaotic 2025 Australian Grand Prix. The team struggled to capitalize on the unpredictable weather and failed to make the most of critical opportunities at Albert Park, ultimately leading to costly mistakes.

Once considered a strong title contender, the Italian squad faltered with strategic errors and driver missteps, leaving them fighting for minor points—much to the frustration of both their fans and driver.

Leclerc, who finished in a disappointing eighth place, took full responsibility for the lackluster result. He admitted that his mistake at Turn 11 cost him several positions.

In an interview with Total-Motorsport.com, Leclerc said, "It was definitely a missed opportunity. In changing conditions like that, when you don’t have the pace, you need to take advantage and score points—we didn’t do that today.”

Leclerc continued, “The first person to blame is myself. My mistake out of Turn 11 cost me four or five positions, and that put us on the back foot. If you look at the positions ahead of us, we could have been in third or fourth place, which I believe was achievable. But that’s racing—it is what it is.
